Charli XCX released “SS26” with a music video starring fashion editors and designers instead of supermodels. The Torso-directed project opens with editor Carine Roitfeld and brings in Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello, Zadig et Voltaire creative director Dan Sablon, and PR veterans Lucien Pagès and David Siwicki.
The two-and-a-half-minute video shows the singer walking and stumbling on a runway. Fashion insiders watch from the front row. August Barron designers Bror August Vestbø and Benjamin Barron also appear.
“I think we’re living in a moment where audiences are incredibly media literate,” said Julia Fox, according to Elle. “Artists like Charli understand that fashion isn’t just clothing, it’s language and storytelling.”
Fox had a role in the pop star’s 2024 video, “360,” with Gabbriette Bechtel, Emma Chamberlain, Alex Consani, and Rachel Sennott.
Pagès jumped at the chance to join “SS26,” even though filming happened on a bank holiday in Paris. The video shows looks from Fall/Winter 2026 collections by Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent, Ann Demeulemeester, Dan Sablon’s Zadig et Voltaire, and Nicola Brognano’s debut for 7 For All Mankind. Brognano said he was thrilled the singer picked one of his favorite runway looks.
Madonna released a short film called Confessions II a few weeks after “SS26” premiered. Torso directed that production too. It featured Kate Moss, Honey Dijon, Julia Garner, and Sabrina Carpenter. Doja Cat’s 2025 video “Gorgeous” featured models Amelia Gray, Anok Yai, Yseult, Paloma Elsesser, and Ugbad Abdi.
“Fashion has become less about aspiration and more about cultural authorship,” said Fox to Elle. “Being included signals that fashion isn’t operating in a separate lane from music, film, art, or the internet anymore.”
