Fat Cat, a downtown jazz bar by the same owners as Red Dwarf and Grey Witch, has closed its doors after three years.
Co-owners Russell Gardner and Natalie Burge announced the closure on social media Thursday, saying the bar at 206 N. Third St. (within Downtown Grand) was in a neighborhood that “continues through a period of transition and uncertainty.”
“To our musicians, guests, and neighbors, thank you for embracing Fat Cat. The sense of community, exceptional cocktail programming, and extraordinary musicianship that defined Fat Cat were truly something special, and we’re incredibly proud of what we built together,” they wrote.
Gardner and Burge said they will transition Fat Cat’s live music programming to their sister locations.
The co-owners signed the post, thanking their team for dedication and care that “brought this space to life and gave every night its spark.”
Red Dwaft, a divey mashup of a tiki culture and a pizza shop, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. at 1305 Vegas Valley Drive, while Grey Witch, which opened in Henderson in 2025, is open the same hours, with an all-ages dining area open until 10 p.m.
