Bring a blanket or lawn chair to the Village Green at Watters Creek Village and enjoy music from the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra.
2. Book club
The Allen Public Library’s monthly book club is meeting at The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar to discuss “On The Road” by Jack Kerouac.
3. Summer field day
SBG Hospitality is hosting a summer field day at The Farm. The event will include a watermelon eating contest, water balloon toss, live music and local vendors.
4. Dallas Card Show
The Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel & Convention Center is hosting a card show featuring sports cards, nonsports cards, gaming cards, autographs, comics, toys, collectibles and memorabilia.
5. National Ice Cream Day
Celebrate National Ice Cream Day by sampling frozen treats at the Allen Public Library.
6. Southern Couch Band
Listen to live music at Watters Creek Village. Southern Couch Band plays classics from the ’60s through the ’90s. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
7. Family game night
The Allen Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a family game night at Ford Pool. Attendees should bring snacks and a towel.
