Well, last week gave us an INSANE amount of new music (I sadly didn’t realize until after I posted our weekly coverage that the full albums by American Aquarium, Rat Boy and Bike Routes had dropped – be sure to check those out).
Thankfully, due to the Independence Day holiday, this week is a lighter as far as new albums. The ones out that I definitely want to highlight for you is the latest from indie power popper Ryan Hamilton, and piano rebel rock n’ roller Low Cut Connie.
Indie rock kings Dinosaur Jr. announced a new album this week, and gave us the first taste of it. Man J. Mascis still RIPS on guitar. Another legend in the alternative space, Peter Gabriel, has dropped his latest full moon track, and alt pop star Gayle has returned with a hooky new bop. Got another great one from New Jersey’s Jared Hart, and a surprising collaboration between melodic pop rockers Snow Patrol and dance-pop queen Kylie Minogue. Bryan Adams takes a stand on his righteous new track, and indie soul group Los Coast continue to make every single count.
We also have new singles from The Sleights, The N.S.O., CR & the White Lights, Fly Right, Figures on a Beach, Taylor Bickett, Michigander, Stanley Simmons, Jack Kays, DMA’s, Deep Purple and Billy Morrison.
And the new names you’ll find this week on the list include Thimble, Saturn, World Famous Pets, Selfish Things, D.B. Tait, Major Spark, Chess Club, Nathan Coutts, Weatherell, The Falls, Bone-Idle, TX2 and Ian Prowse.
So in between your July 4th playlists, check out some of the new music out in our New Music Friday Playlist.
