‘Moulin Rouge’ on tour
A touring company brings “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” (a jukebox musical featuring tunes from Jacques Offenbach to Lady Gaga with a book by John Logan, based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film) to Fayetteville’s Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Arkansas Symphony Orchestra CEO Christina Littlejohn will be a faculty member and Elisha Johnson, the orchestra’s director of marketing, will be a participant in the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management Program, July 21-30 at The Juilliard School in New York.
They’ll be among 36 orchestra and arts professionals taking part in the professional development program, now in its 26th year, covering topics including artistic planning and leadership; development, finance and strategic planning; equity, diversity and inclusion; education and community engagement; human resources and organizational culture; general management and governance; media, marketing and communications; orchestra operations; negotiations; and the future of orchestras. The program also includes two Festival Orchestra of Lincoln Center concerts and a tour of Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall.

Academy classes
Registration is open online for Western Arkansas Ballet Dance Academy’s 2026-27 classes in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and hip-hop for age 2 through adult at its studio, 4701 Grand Ave., Fort Smith.
