On Sunday, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared photos from a special day with their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The family completed the National Three Peaks Challenge together to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. In the pictures, they’re celebrating their accomplishment:
Kate can be seen sharing a big hug with Charlotte. For the walk, the princess wore red shorts and matching socks with a dark navy polo and hat. She had on a pair of brown leather hiking boots.
And she also checked in with her two boys. The kids all wore jeans for the outing, with Charlotte wearing a navy cardigan and blue sneakers and George and Louis wearing polo shirts.
To complete the Challenge, hikers must climb the “three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours,” per the charity’s website. Kate and her family took on the journey “to highlight the importance of holistic care and support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.”
In her letter on the enterprise, Kate wrote, “Cancer doesn’t just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone.”
She added, “Every individual is different, and ensuring there is a whole person approach to care enables those living through cancer to manage the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis. Holistic therapies complement clinical pathways and support patients’ ability to maintain their wellbeing, resilience and quality of life during an exceptionally difficult time.”
