Adam Sandler had one simple piece of advice for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on their big day.
As more details emerge about the couple’s star-studded July 3 wedding, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has revealed the memorable nugget of wisdom that Sandler offered while serving as the officiant of the Madison Square Garden-set ceremony.
Sandler was “crazy” but phenomenal and — perhaps unsurprisingly — brought “a lot of humor” to his gig, Reid joked at an event in Salt Lake City on Sunday on July 5 via The Deseret News.
As for the advice the Sandman offered, Reid recalled, “He told them, ‘Keep kissing.’ So, in its simplest form, that’s a good thing. It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to do it. Knock it out, and you won’t have problems.”
In terms of marriage advice, Sandler has some pretty stellar qualifications: The comedian has been married to his wife Jackie since 2003. The couple shares daughters Sunny, 17, and Sadie, 20.
News broke around 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, July 3, that Swift and Kelce were officially married. Swift’s PR team subsequently confirmed via a statement, noting, “The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”
Shocking as it was for some fans to learn of Sandler’s role in the wedding, it’s well-documented that he is very much acquainted with the newlyweds. Kelce appeared alongside Sandler in Happy Gilmore 2 last year. Around that time, the Uncut Gems star voiced high praise of Swift, sharing that they’ve met on several occasions.

“Taylor is incredible,” Sandler told Entertainment Tonight. “Taylor is so damn nice to my family and has always been. My kids have met Taylor a bunch of times over the years, and she’s ridiculously nice to them and warm.”
