In case you missed it: Love Island UK Bombshell Gabriel Garland was removed from the Casa Amor Villa after it came to light that he was reportedly involved in a stabbing incident in southeast London, and now he’s telling his side of the story. According to Gabriel, “There was an incident at a party I was at when I was a teenager. This incident should obviously not be taken lightly. It was very traumatic for everyone involved. I want to make it clear that the judge ruled that I was not to blame and that I have no criminal record.”
He added that he was disappointed to have to leave Love Island because he had a very strong connection with one of the girls in the Villa (though unfortunately, it seems we won’t ever find out who he had this romantic connection with).
According to court documents seen by The Sun, the 24-year-old model was named in court papers relating to a serious incident on New Year’s Eve in 2019. A man named Vitor Mazzer, then 18 years old, was found guilty of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a party on Casewick Road in London.
The court documents show that Gabriel was present at the party with Vitor and had an altercation with the two victims before they were stabbed. Gabriel has not been charged with any offense. Vitor, meanwhile, was sentenced to 42 months in prison, and his appeal against the conviction was dismissed in April 2024.
A spokesperson for Love Island UK said, “Gabriel has now left the Villa and will not be returning. In line with our duty of care toward the contestants, we will not be making any further comment on this.”
As a reminder, Gabriel is not the only one to have left the Mallorca Villa this season; Islander George Knight also suddenly went home.
