When you have over a thousand guests, some are going to do things you might not like. It’s just the law of averages. For Taylor Swift, a big wedding at Madison Square Garden doesn’t guarantee everything will go perfectly. And though the big night was reportedly very much a success, afterwards, there’s been perhaps a little more shared than Swift would have liked.
And now fans are criticizing one guest in particular, Gracie Abrams. Why? Abrams, who attended Swift’s wedding, shared a carousel of random pictures after the wedding, including her outfit. So far, so good. She, however, also shared a still of Joe Alwyn and Emma Stone from the 2018 film The Favourite.

Yes, that Joe Alwyn. Taylor Swift’s ex. To be fair, the scene shows his character tackling Emma Stone’s character in the woods, so you can’t see his face. But fans quickly realized who it was, and were not happy about Alwyn being included.
“I’m sorry are you for real? Including a photo of Joe in the same photo dump as Taylor’s wedding? Couldn’t you at least congratulate Taylor and Travis on the post?” one person asked.
“Not congratulating Taylor – but posting her ex?” another pointed out. A third added: “The screen capture of Joe Alwyn from The Favourite in the same carousel as the outfit you wore to Taylor Swift’s wedding is crazyyyyy.”
“I’ve never unfollowed faster. Not only is that one slide just weird to include when your first slide is her wedding day…. But not a single congrats or ‘TnT’ or basically anything to acknowledge it as her day is just kinda weird as well,” someone else said.
This all comes after fans have also criticized Tori Evans, one of Swift’s dancers, who posted an Instagram video of her and her husband’s outfits for the big day. She wore a light-colored strapless gown with a matching scarf. Typically, it’s considered poor etiquette for wedding guests to wear white/off-white or similar shades to a wedding, to make sure the attention remains on the bride. She posted the same video on TikTok.
“White to Taylor Swift‘s wedding is insane,” one fan commented, while another one asked: “Out of all the colors, did you have to wear white?”
“Beautiful couple. Stunning attire. However… It is surprising that basic wedding etiquette seems to be overlooked by so many guests,” a third person added. “As a guest, white should not be worn. Off-white should also be avoided. Traditionally, shades such as champagne and red are likewise discouraged, as they can draw attention away from the bride. Unless, that is the intent.”
They added, “If you felt comfortable with your choice, that is certainly your prerogative, and I respect your confidence. However, I can also guarantee that many women at that wedding were discussing it, and a number of them were likely disappointed by the decision considering you are close to Taylor.”
Her husband, TJ Shaw, clarified in the comments, “DRESS IS PINK CHAMPAGNE color for everyone that doesn’t understand lighting 😂”
Yet people didn’t stop. “Even if it’s pink but it’s so close to white lol why choose that colour to wear at someone’s wedding 💍?”
