Zane Phillips is giving fans what they want.
Besides his recent guest spots as himself on popular TV shows such as Loot, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and The Comeback, the handsome actor is now showing a deeper side of himself in his latest short film.
Something Still follows Phillips and costar John Brodsky in a story centered on a messy relationship that involves heartbreak, blurred boundaries, and a threesome that kicks off all of the chaos.
Phillips plays a heartbroken man who decides to return to the apartment he once shared with his ex-boyfriend. Once the boys reunite under the same roof again, the exes decide to face all of the baggage and difficult memories that led to the demise of their relationship.
One scene that quickly gained traction on social media is the “casual threesome” that created the fracture in the relationship. The hookup didn’t just end that night, as it slowly evolves into an emotional affair that wasn’t part of the original plan. By blurring their boundaries, the couple must decide what’s best for their future.
The 19-minute LGBTQ+ drama short film just premiered on the 2026 film festival circuit (including Inside Out Toronto and NFMLA), but it hasn’t secured a digital distribution deal just yet. However, some of the steamy scenes and promotional photos for the movie have hit the internet and fans are having an absolute field day.
