Savannah Guthrie was out again from Today this week.
Her absence, however, reportedly has nothing to do with her mom Nancy Guthrie’s case.

Savannah Guthrie was absent once again from the Today show this week.
The anchor was not on the Wednesday or Thursday broadcasts of the morning show amid her mom Nancy Guthrie‘s abduction investigation. The case, however, has nothing to do with Savannah’s absence, according to PEOPLE.
A source told the outlet that Savannah is simply taking a few days off for summer break, and is expected to return on Monday, July 13.
Sheinelle Jones filled in for Savannah alongside Craig Melvin on July 8, and Laura Jarrett stepped in at the anchor desk on July 9.
The last time Savannah was seen on Today was Tuesday, when she swapped outfits mid-broadcast in order to match her colleagues who were all wearing yellow.
“You guys, did you really have a memo? I’m changing!” Savannah confessed before a commercial break on the show.
Next thing her surprised cohosts knew, Guthrie was in a yellow gingham dress on the Today plaza.
“I love that you just found this yellow dress,” Dylan Dreyer told Savannah, who replied, “I did, girls! I wanted to be with my ladies.”
Melvin and fellow cohost Carson Daly also sported yellow ties for the reported now-weekly occasion.
Yellow is a significant color for Savannah, who has been gifted sunny-hued flowers and has sported yellow ribbons in support of her 84-year-old mother.
Nancy went missing from her home in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 1, and an investigation on the case has been ongoing.

Savannah missed months of work to be with her family and help in the search for her mother before returning to Today in April. She frequently shares updates and discusses the impact of Nancy’s disappearance on the show.
“This is unusual and unprecedented, to say the least, to be sitting here, but I don’t have any comment on the story and I’m not involved in our coverage,” she said through tears on the June 23 broadcast, which aired an update on Nancy’s investigation.
Savannah continued, “But, I can’t pretend I’m not here. Since I am, I wanted to take the opportunity to ask people, to really beg people to come forward. Somebody knows something. This is a news story today that’s on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day.”

Savannah stressed that her family is “in agony” and will not find peace until the case is resolved.
“No matter how much I try to come out here every day and smile and find that joy, and I will — I promise I will — this is a moment to tell you that we need your help,” she stated. We’re begging for help, and I’m not going to miss that opportunity.”
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have repeatedly asked for tips at the 1-800-CALL-FBI line. The FBI set a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to Nancy’s recovery or the apprehension of those involved.
