Real Housewives of Orange County star Jennifer Pedranti confirms her son was “involved” in starting a seven-acre fire.
“He will be taking a fire safety course to make sure a mistake like this never happens again,” she said in a statement.
The 20th season of Bravo’s RHOC premiered tonight, July 9.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Jennifer Pedranti’s son just learned a valuable lesson about playing with fire.
The mother of five addressed speculation that one of her four sons was involved in a seven-acre brush fire that ravaged the Ladera Ranch area on Tuesday.
“I would like to clear up the rumblings of my son having involvement in the Ladera Ranch fire,” Pedranti wrote in an Instagram Story. “He and others were involved. My ex husband and myself take this very serious. This behavior is unacceptable and we are deeply sorry to our community. This is a tough learning moment for our son and our family.”

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, multiple 911 calls came in at 4:45 p.m. to report a blaze threatening homes in the area of Narrow Canyon Road and Acaster Way.
Initially estimated to be three acres, the vegetation fire more than doubled as firefighters battled the flames in a coordinated response from the ground and air with multiple helicopters and a fixed-wing airplane.
Within two hours, the fire was deemed “under control” by the OCFA without any injuries or property damage.
Pedranti didn’t specify which of her four sons – who range in age from 12 to 22 – was involved, but she vowed there would be consequences for their actions.
“The fire and police were absolutely amazing and gave these boys a lesson they will never forget,” said the reality star. “There were no arrests made, but consequences for actions are being put into place. He will be taking a fire safety course to make sure a mistake like this never happens again. There are consequences within our family and we will make sure our son learns from this accident.”
It remains to be seen if the Pedranti family drama will be documented on The Real Housewives of Orange County, which premiered tonight on Bravo.

Ahead of the historic 20th season, the ladies — including the “OG of the OC” Vicki Gunvalson, who returns as a full-time cast member — spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what fans can expect.
“A lot of friendships are tested… truly,” says Heather Dubrow. “But I also think everyone’s personal story is very interesting, different, heartfelt, scary sometimes. It’s a good, classic season.”

And they’re ready to “whoop it up” just like old times.
“The Tres Amigas” — Gunvalson, Shannon Beador, and Tamra Judge — “are now talking,” says Judge. “I’m not saying we start off talking, but we get to there. And overall, I walked away from filming, and I went, ‘Wow, I’m gonna miss you girls.'”
