THE sounds of summer are back across Omagh and Fermangh with the return of the revered ‘Seasonal Outdoor Music Programme’.
Organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, band Tumbleweed (comprised of Ambre Burt and Walter Curran) brought the music to Grange Park, Omagh, on Sunday afternoon, setting the tone for a summer filled with uplifting live music, while Luke Bell entertained visitors at The Round O, Enniskillen.
With free live music every Sunday throughout July and August, upcoming performances will take place from 1pm to 3.30pm, giving residents and visitors the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and soak up the sounds in two much-loved outdoor locations.
The opening outdoor performances were warmly-received by audiences and local musicians, singers and bands, who welcomed the opportunity to showcase their talents and connect with people in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
The outdoor performances aim to brighten public green spaces and town centres, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy throughout the summer months.
Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Cllr Debbie Coyle has welcomed the local live music.
“It is great to see the return of the Seasonal Outdoor Music Programme, which brings a welcoming atmosphere to our parks and town centres and helps enhance the experience for residents and visitors alike,” she said. “The programme also provides an excellent platform for our local musicians, while supporting and showcasing the wonderful artistic talent we have across the district.
“ I encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the music and make the most of the free outdoor entertainment on offer this summer.”
Upcoming outdoor performances at the Bandstand, Grange Park, Omagh will include music by
Luke Bell; St Eugene’s Brass and Reed Band; Paul Cassidy; St Mary’s Silver Band; Paul McLaughlin; Mad as Folk; Foxtrot Uniform; and more.
Meanwhile in Enniskillen, folks can look forward to hearing Fermanagh Concert Band; Church Hill Silver Band; Letterbreen Silver Band; Fermanagh Youth Choir; Fermanagh Comhaltas; The Hand Me Downs; and more at The Round O, Enniskillen.

Looking ahead, the Council is also pleased to announce the return of the Live n’ Local Festive Street Music Programme. Performances will take place at Market Street, Omagh on Saturdays, November 28 and December 5, 12, and 19 from 1pm to 3.30pm.
