If you needed another reason to head to the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix this October, here it is. Singapore GP has just dropped its final pair of headline acts: rock heavyweight The Killers and dream-pop queen Lana Del Rey. This officially completes one of the Singapore Grand Prix’s biggest entertainment rosters yet, which includes Zara Larsson, James Arthur, Split Enz, Goo Goo Dolls, Janet Jackson, and Mark Ronson.
It’s been a long time coming for The Killers. Eight years after their last Singapore Grand Prix appearance, the Las Vegas rock band is finally returning to the Padang Stage, taking over after the F1 qualifying session on Saturday, October 10. Few bands have churned out as many generation-defining anthems as The Killers – even if they aren’t your favourite band, we’d bet good money you know the chorus to ‘Mr. Brightside’. Since bursting onto the scene in the early 2000s, they’ve become one of rock’s biggest names.
And the lineup continues to deliver. On Sunday, October 11, Lana Del Rey will make her long-awaited Singapore concert debut. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter shot to global fame in the early 2010s with haunting hits like ‘Video Games’, ‘Born to Die’ and ‘Summertime Sadness’, carving out a lane entirely her own with a sound that meshes cinematic ballads, old Hollywood glamour and melancholy-laced lyrics into her own unique sound. More than a decade on, she’s still one of pop’s most influential artists, with critically acclaimed albums including Ultraviolence, Norman Fucking Rockwell! and Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence about tickets, run. Several ticket categories have already sold out, and organisers say sales have been especially strong. All tickets include access to performances at the Zone 4 Padang Stage, while a Zone 1 ticket is required for the Wharf Stage and Barge Stage.
