Toby Keith’s party guy legacy lives on through Riley Green in his new “Think as You Drunk” music video — the late “Red Solo Cup” singer even makes a cameo at the end!
There’s no other way to say it: Riley is a hot mess and three sheets to the wind as he staggers into his Nashville bar, Duck Blind. He finds himself in handcuffs by the end of the night, but there are beautiful women everywhere and the beer is cold, so he’s not too pressed about his misfortune.
Truthfully, he seems to be having a blast!
Just when he thinks he’s got his bearings, it turns out it’s all in his head, and everyone’s looking at him sideways. In reality, he’s talking to his dog, a cowboy Corgi named Carl who is also at the bar, he’s lost a boot and a girlfriend, and is the target of a not-so-high-speed chase. It’s a fun video from an artist who, more often than not, is singing about romance and heartbreak.
“Think as You Drunk” is a drinking anthem, and if it reminds you of Toby Keith, you’ve got a good ear. It actually samples Toby’s 2005 Billboard Hot Country Songs chart-topper “As Good as I Once Was” on the outro, and as such, the legend and his writing partner Scotty Emerick get a writing credit on Riley’s song, which he co-wrote with Erik Dylan, Jessi Alexander, and Wyatt McCubbin in just 20 minutes.
“The best compliment I can give a song is, ‘Man, this feels like a Toby Keith song,’” Riley told Billboard in March. “Especially as a songwriter, I don’t know if there was a bigger influence on me.”
As the video draws to a close, the camera pans to a framed photo of Toby, smiling that million-dollar smile and holding up a Solo cup in his happy place, a concert stage. The “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” singer died in February 2024 after a battle with aggressive stomach cancer. A portion of the proceeds from “Think as You Drunk” will go to the Toby Keith Foundation, an organization he started in 2006 to help pediatric cancer patients.

“Think as You Drunk” will find a permanent home on Riley’s fourth studio album, That’s Just Me, coming September 18. Plus, look for him as a new coach on The Voice this fall alongside Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Queen Latifah. NBC was even able to personalize one of the iconic red chairs so Riley can still have his cowboy hat beside him on a holster.
