Dropkick Murphys are giving fans a double dose of new music.
The Celtic punk band has officially released the music video for its latest song, “Dropped on My Head,” which also serves as the main title theme for the upcoming MGM+ crime drama The Westies.
The energetic track is featured prominently in the series, introducing viewers to the gritty world of the new show before each episode begins. Along with the song’s television debut, the band unveiled an official music video, giving fans a fresh look at the anthem outside of the series.
Known for blending punk rock with Celtic influences, Dropkick Murphys have built a loyal following over the past three decades with hits including “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” “Rose Tattoo” and “The State of Massachusetts.” Their music has frequently been featured in films, television shows and sporting events, making the band’s sound a natural fit for a high-energy crime drama.
The Westies is inspired by the infamous Irish-American gang that operated in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood during the 1970s and 1980s. The series is expected to bring a mix of organized crime, family loyalty and power struggles to the small screen.
“Dropped on My Head” captures the band’s signature driving sound while helping set the tone for the upcoming series.
Fans can stream the new song and watch the official music video now ahead of The Westies‘ premiere, giving both longtime listeners and newcomers an early taste of the collaboration between the iconic punk band and the anticipated television drama.
The Westies premieres July 12, 2026, on MGM+.
