Britney Spears has seen the photos of herself hanging out of the sunroof of a luxury SUV on a jammed Los Angeles freeway — and she has another to share.
The 44-year-old pop superstar addressed photos that quickly went viral after being shared by TMZ on Friday. Spears was spotted on L.A.’s 101 freeway popping out of the sunroof of a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (or G-Wagon, as they’re commonly called) on Thursday, dancing and whooping it up.
On Saturday, Spears shared another angle of the now-viral moment to her Instagram, accompanied by the following caption: “What people see is two seconds of insanity of me arching me to the lords !!!!! yet the days and hours of my reality !!!!!! Nothing is what it seems.”
Spears frequently hits back at controversies arising from her sometimes erratic behavior on Instagram. Thursday’s Mercedes moment was no exception.
The “Lucky” singer ended the post by writing, “Psss I think I need to come out of the roof quite a bit more 🙄😳🤦♀️😂.”

Instagram has become Spears’ only direct line of communication to fans since she retreated from the public eye in 2019, when she announced her indefinite hiatus from performing.
In November, Spears abruptly deleted her account in the wake of the publication of You Thought You Knew, a tell-all memoir by her ex Kevin Federline. But she returned weeks later with a post opening up about the “hurt and pain” she has endured.”
The new year that followed has not been an easy one for Spears. She was arrested on suspicion of a DUI in March, and formally charged with the offense in April.
Fortunately for the Grammy winner, several factors worked in her favor to lessen the blowback: For one, it was the first charge of its kind Spears had faced up to that point. She also registered a low blood alcohol content at the time of her arrest, and there was no crash or injury involved. As a result, Spears was able to enter what’s called a “wet reckless” plea, which allows the defendant to serve probation with credit for any time spent in custody rather than serving jail time.
