Chayce Beckham just released a love song dressed up like a neo western. “Dirt Floor” dropped today, written by Beckham alongside Brandon Kinney and John Pierce and produced by Bart Butler. Listen here.
The track leans into a neon-desert noir vibe, dark and moody enough to make you wonder if the couple’s love is a mirage as they turn the dirt beneath them into a dance floor. Underneath all that atmosphere, though, it’s ultimately a love song glowing under a midnight moon.
Beckham says the song captures something he’s genuinely lived. “This track depicts how being with the right person can make you feel like you’re in the right place no matter where you are, a sentiment that rings so true in my life,” he says. “I love that it isn’t quite like anything I’ve written or recorded in the past, and it has a great tone that feels memorable.”
Entertainment Focus has called Beckham “the poster child for impactful and meaningful country music,” and this release only builds on that reputation. With “Dirt Floor” out now, Beckham continues his run as one of the genre’s most exciting rising stars, all while touring and working on the next wave of music in the studio.
Beckham’s path to this moment has been anything but typical. He won American Idol singing his own original songs, becoming the first contestant to do so, and scored his first country radio No. 1 with the Platinum hit “23.” Raised in California on a mix of country, rock and hip hop, Beckham built his songwriting around heart-on-his-sleeve honesty after a difficult stretch of life left him searching for something real.
“23” has since pulled in more than 1.2 billion global on-demand streams, debuting at No. 1 on both the iTunes All Genre and Country singles charts and launching his debut album ‘Bad For Me’. The Grand Ole Opry, CMT, Amazon Music and MusicRow have all tagged him as an artist to watch, and “Dirt Floor” keeps that momentum rolling into summer.
