It was an exciting night out for Rocki Irish Mayers. On Sunday evening, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s 10-month-old daughter accompanied her father to Yankee Stadium for Jay-Z’s weekend residency. (The final show of the three-night run, of course, included a surprise performance from the one and only “Umbrella” star.)
The concert—which faced hours-long delays due to crowd safety issues—didn’t kick off until midnight, though that was no problem for the couple’s youngest child. Wearing pink bows in her hair and a little tulle Fendi Kids dress embroidered with multicolored logos, Rocki powered through her bedtime to watch her mom on stage for the first time. Rocky, wearing a red Coogi set, carried the barefoot baby inside.
Rihanna’s two-song guest spot marked her first performance in years. Save for a private concert given at the wedding of billionaire couple Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai in 2024, the last time that the artist graced the stage was at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. A whole three years later, she joined Jay-Z for her part on their collaborative hit “Run This Town” (2009), before diving into 2015’s “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
“Y’all know I’m rusty, right? It’s been a while,” Rihanna said, wearing a custom leather Saint Laurent look by Anthony Vaccarello. Later, she told the crowd, “I missed this s—t, y’all! New York, I love you guys!”
The weekend celebrated the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z’s debut album, Reasonable Doubt, as well as the 25th of The Blueprint. In addition to Rihanna, the artist brought out a roster of star-studded surprise guests that included his family and collaborators alike: Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Teyana Taylor, and more.
