Lana Del Rey fans have a lot to be excited about today. The artist, who has kept her listeners eagerly waiting for her yet-to-be-released 10th studio album, Stove, just let us in on a beautiful surprise: It will come with a companion project.
In a new Instagram post, the artist explained how the double album came to be, grounding the explanation with a handful of intimate videos and photos from her personal life. Among them, a black-and-white clip gave a sweet, rare glimpse at her life with her husband, Louisiana alligator swamp tour guide Jeremy Dufrene. The two, who met back in 2019 and married in 2024, are captured smiling into the camera before turning to each other and laughing.
“So much has happened over the last four years, so much time waiting for things to come together and so much time wondering if it was ok that things were falling apart,” she wrote. “Patience was the key, and in between the songs came new thoughts about old friends and new dreams and from the doubt of whether the tree I had been planting would grow came new sprouts and so grew a new rose bush underneath the willow.”
The result was a “beautiful, secondary album,” a companion to Stove which Del Rey confirmed is “intact as it was intended to be.” The singer noted that she just needs one more month to finish putting the project together, and then, the world will see it.
“Thank you for waiting,” she added. “It certainly is two of my most beautiful pieces of work, rooted in what I thought would be made out of growth and joy but was peppered with a secondary compilation of songs that sprouted from doubt, hopefulness, and the understanding that new beginnings truly mean starting completely fresh and over.”
