It’s been almost a week since Love Island USA ended and, to put it bluntly, I need my show back. As we all know, the LIUSA season 8 reunion drops on Monday, August 31, which is over a month away. Why the wait? Mostly because the cast just got their phones back and are acclimating to the real world, figuring out talent representation, and adjusting to new follower counts in the multimillions. On top of that, producers presumably want to give everyone a chance to settle into—or out of—their relationships. The reunion will be much more interesting if it’s not just an immediate extension of the season finale—we want to know what everyone’s been up to in their new lives, and in order for that to happen, there needs to be a gap!
So, WHEN will the reunion film?
Peacock hasn’t dropped a date, but we can look to last season for some clues.
Love Island USA season 7 filmed in New York City on Tuesday, August 12, and then aired two weeks later on August 25. Working backward, if the season 8 reunion airs Monday, August 31, we can expect it to film on Monday, August 17, or thereabouts. Either way, the show isn’t likely to keep it a secret. Last season, host Andy Cohen straight-up filmed himself live from the studio for Instagram.
“Guys, Love Island reunions are no joke,” he said. “We are on dinner break. It is 9:45. We’re going back in there soon. This reunion—it’s good.” Andy then added, “I’m having so much fun with Ariana. She’s amazing, and you know what? I like doing, I like hosting a reunion with her. It’s really fun!”
The Love Island USA season 8 reunion will presumably also film in New York City, so keep an eye out for your faves gathering in just about a month.
