Prince Harry has reportedly admitted that his children are glad to be home after their brief visit to the UK with their parents.
The Duke of Sussex is back in the US and made an appearance at the Time 100 Sports Gala in New York City on Thursday, July 16, where he was allegedly overheard providing an update on the trip to some familiar faces.
Harry, 41, was at the event to deliver a speech, but also mingled with other guests and chatted about his recent meeting with his father, King Charles. He also discussed how his father is doing following his health woes over recent years.
Harry was reportedly overheard telling other guests that his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are “happy” to be home and back in California following the trip.
According to a Page Six insider, Harry suggested that the King is “doing great,” amid his ongoing battle with an undisclosed form of cancer. Harry reportedly also told a fellow guest that his children with the Duchess of Sussex “are growing like weeds.”
Harry’s appearance at the event was unexpected, and, while sticking to the sporting theme on the red carpet, he told the outlet that he was “of course” upset to see England lose to Argentina 1-2 in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Harry and Meghan, 44, visited the UK last week, with the duke taking part not only in official public engagements during the trip but also in a number of private meetings away from the public eye.
Among these was a reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House, which his wife Meghan and children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet also attended.
The family of four is also rumored to have visited Harry’s uncle Charles Spencer’s Althorp Estate — the ancestral home of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
It is widely believed the family made a point of visiting Princess Diana’s final resting place on the estate during their reported stay. Meghan did not take part in any public engagements during the trip.
Meanwhile, the family reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla also remained private with no official pictures of their visit shared by the palace.
The Monarch met with his son and his family shortly after the Duke left the Invictus Games in Birmingham. Meghan landed in Britain for the first time in four years for the reunion after much speculation over the visit.
Officials described the meeting at the King’s home in Gloucestershire as a “private family occasion.” It was the first time Prince Harry and Meghan had been in the UK together since 2022, when they attended the funeral of his grandmother the Queen.
