‘Lincoln@Gettysburg’
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, screens “Lincoln@Gettysburg,” 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The documentary focuses on President Abraham Lincoln’s command in 1863 “not only on the battlefields of the Civil War, but in his high-tech command center: the War Department Telegraph Office,” according to a news release. ‘Fearless Celebration’
Actors Theatre of Little Rock will stage seven plays and musicals in its fifth-anniversary season, including one Arkansas premiere and one regional premiere.
Season Five: “A Fearless Celebration” kicks off Feb. 17-March 6 with an “immersive experience” production of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” featuring original music by Little Rock “feel good soul meets modern Americana” band Patty and the Cakes.
The season includes the regional premiere, Sept. 29-Oct. 16, 2027, of “Somewhere Over the Border” (book, music and lyrics by Brian Quijada), “inspired by the real-life journey of playwright Brian Quijada’s mother from El Salvador to the United States and by (L. Frank Baum’s) ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,'” according to a news release.
And the troupe will stage the Arkansas premiere of “Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill” (music by Morissette, book by Diablo Cody), June 9-26, 2027.

◼️ Aug. 4-21, 2027: “Akeelah and the Bee,” adapted for the stage by Cheryl L. West based on the screenplay by Doug Atchison
◼️ Dec. 1-18, 2027: “Fiddler on the Roof” (music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, book by Joseph Stein based on the tales of Sholem Aleichem) in an “immersive reimagining.”
The group’s “immersive” productions involve contact with members of the audience.
