The San Diego Padres (48-50) and Kansas City Royals (40-59) meet Sunday for the finale of their 3-game series. First pitch from Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, is set for 2:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze MLB odds around the Padres vs. Royals odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Royals lead 2-0
After a 7-6 win in 10 innings Friday, Kansas City beat San Diego 6-1 in the second game of their series Saturday. OF Lane Thomas was the star of the show, ending with 2 RBIs and 2 Hs. RP Daniel Lynch IV picked up the win, throwing 2 scoreless innings.
The Royals, despite having closed as an underdog in both outings, have won both in the series, a welcome sign after a 5-game losing streak prior. They sit last in the AL Central and are just 5-8 in July.
The Padres still have playoff aspirations, sitting third in the NL West. However, they are just 5-13 over their last 18 outings and have had major issues on the road as well.

Padres at Royals picks and predictions
Prediction
Padres 6, Royals 5
BET PADRES (+105).
The Royals offense is far too inconsistent to trust here. They’ve tallied 13 runs over their last 2 games, but prior to that, they had scored a total of 11 runs in their previous 5 outings. Of note, the Royals are jsut 5-13 in Cameron’s 18 starts as well.
The Padres have lost back-to-back games, but it hasn’t been because of their bats. They’ve scored 20 runs over their last 4 games, so they’ll likely find a way to get on base. Couple that with Marquez having been lights out on the road, and they should pick up a win here.
PASS.
Avoid this play. The Padres (-175) are far too expensive, while the Royals (+145) are too risky.
BET OVER 10 (-110).
Neither side has an ace starting on the mound, so runs should be easier to come by.
The Royals have gone Over in 2 of their last 3 games and are 6-1 O/U in Cameron’s last 7 starts. For the Padres, they are 3-1 O/U in their previous 4 games. They’ve allowed at least 4 runs in 5 straight contests as well.
