Leslie Jones put her roasting skills to the test in unexpected ways on the Today show.
The comedian, 58, appeared on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Tuesday, July 21, to promote her new HGTV series,Roast My Rental, in which shevisits the country’s worst short-term rentals and, after giving a brutally honest review, helps transform the properties.
After she demonstrated her ability to roast anything for co-hosts Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager — including one of the Studio 1A team members — the former Saturday Night Live star got distracted.
Leslie pulled Sheinelle to stand next to her and jokingly called her an “Oopma-Loompa” as she pointed out their height difference.
“Girl!” Leslie said as Sheinelle took her shoes off to further demonstrate the 13-inch height difference. As Bush Hager laughed, Leslie picked Sheinelle up.
“She is so small!” Leslie said to the cameras as Sheinelle, 48, tried to jump on her back.
The end of the segment got fully derailed as Sheinelle and Leslie kept joking while Bush Hager tried to segue to an ad break.
“We have lost our minds here in the studio!” Leslie joked.
Before her antics with Sheinelle, Leslie explained that the new series was filmed very much in the moment.
“They never tell me how it looks,” she said of the properties she visited. “I walk in, it’s straight off the top.”

She named “carpet in the bathroom” and “dirty kitchens” as among the worst things she saw during the filming process.
“The biggest thing was cleanliness. A lot of people are nose blind — they don’t smell the nastiness,” she revealed. “That’s the first thing that hits you.”
Roast My Rental premieres Friday, July 24, at 10 p.m. ET on HGTV.
