Star Trek licensees EXO-6 and Factory Entertainment keep celebrating the franchise’s 60th anniversary with more new collectibles to honor the Original Series!

First up is a pair of special 1:6-scale character figures from producer EXO-6, starting with Captain Kirk from “The Tholian Web,” complete with his iconic silver environmental suit from that third-season episode.

Retailing for $225 and available for preorder through July 27, this 12″ figure includes a removable helmet, and a posable body to recreate Kirk’s harrowing trip through the interphasic rift aboard the USS Defiant. This figure is expected to ship in the last quarter of 2026.

General Trelane (retired!) is EXO-6’s second special Original Series figure for July, brining actor William Campbell’s mischievous godlike entity to the 12″ size – complete with ruffled shirt, intricately-designed jacket, and of course his dueling sword as seen in “The Squire of Gothos.”

Trelane is available for preorder now through August 11 for a price of $230, and is expected to ship in late 2026.

Factory Entertainment is continuing their 60th anniversary Trek offerings — in addition to their other new products we told you about earlier this month — with a return to the start of the franchise: a famous prop seen in “The Cage” and “Where No Man Has Gone Before.”

The company has created two replicas of the early-days laser pistol sidearm, a precursor to the now-famous phaser, which debuted in the original Star Trek pilot episode (“The Cage”). The weapon prop was then modified for use in the Original Series’ second pilot (“Where No Man Has Gone Before”).

Factory Entertainment’s first pilot edition is based on the prop seen in “The Cage,” and is available for preorder now at a cost of $849.99. The second pilot edition is based upon the “Where No Man Has Gone Before” version, with the same cost and expected late-2026 delivery timeframe.

THE ORIGINAL PROP (“The Cage” VERSION)

Hero and stunt versions of the prop were built [for “The Cage”]. The stunt props were cast in rubber, while the hero versions featured metal components, moving parts, and a distinctive extending barrel.

When a second pilot, “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” was commissioned, the surviving laser pistol props were modified for reuse. As a result, no original, unmodified “Cage” laser pistols are known to exist today.

THE REPLICA (“The Cage” VERSION)

Factory Entertainment was fortunate to gain access to an original “Where No Man Has Gone Before” laser pistol for detailed study. Combined with extensive archival research, this allowed the team to digitally recreate the original “Cage” version by reversing the later modifications.

The result is a highly accurate replica of the original laser pistol seen in “The Cage.” While remaining faithful to the original prop, subtle refinements have been made to correct minor asymmetries inherent in the hand-built 1960s original, creating a precision-engineered replica that looks perfect from every angle.

THE ORIGINAL PROP (“Where No Man Has Gone Before” VERSION)

To save both time and money, several props from “The Cage” were reused and modified for “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” including the distinctive laser sidearms. The props underwent several visual changes involving the addition of ‘found’ parts.

To give the prop a more futuristic appearance, two gear-like metal cogs were added to the rear, typewriter keys were incorporated into the body, and the grip details were altered and repainted. Most noticeably, the red “laser” effect seen in “The Cage” was replaced with a blue energy effect.

Every surviving “Cage” laser pistol was modified for the second pilot, meaning no original, unaltered examples are known to survive today. Some versions also featured a simple wire clip intended to attach the weapon to an actor’s costume, though the idea proved impractical and was quickly abandoned. The modified pistols would continue to appear beyond the second pilot, including in the first-season episodes “The Man Trap” and “What Little Girls Are Made Of.”

THE REPLICA (“Where No Man Has Gone Before” VERSION)

Factory Entertainment was fortunate to gain access to a surviving original “Where No Man Has Gone Before” laser pistol prop for detailed study and measurement. Using this rare artifact as a reference, the team created a highly accurate digital model and precision-engineered replica of this important piece of “Star Trek” history.

Like many television props of the era, the original was built quickly and featured numerous hand-crafted details and minor asymmetries. Factory Entertainment has subtly refined these imperfections while preserving the appearance and character of the original prop, creating a replica that holds up to modern close-up inspection.

Each version of the laser pistol replica is constructed of “aluminum, brass, polycarbonate, and injection-molded plastic” and features “a rotating emitter, extending barrel, flip-up sight, functional power/mode ring, LED light effects, digital sound effects, and USB rechargeable power supply.”

Will you be adding any of these Original Series offerings to your own Star Trek collection? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
