Rock Out Retro-Future Style – The Sims 4 Music Den Kit Is Here!

A new Sims 4 Kit is here, and for the first time in a while it isn’t a brand collaboration or a Creator Kit. The latest offering comes directly from the Sims team, bringing with it new Buy Mode items for music enthusiasts. It leans into a very specific area of design, one that players have been piecing together with objects from various packs for years. Let’s take a look at everything new that comes with The Sims 4 Music Den Kit, and make sure to stick around to the end to see whether or not it’s worth the price tag!

Features Overview

Take a look at the official overview and description provided by EA on the EA App, PlayStation & Microsoft Store, and all other compatible storefronts.

Kit Features

Devote space to a stereo unit rather than hiding music away on your phone. Relax on furniture with boldly distinct shapes and, in one case, instrument storage. Cover the walls with records and posters, and even a display guitar. This is a style that pays homage to the past, is optimistic about the future, and still feels overall contemporary.

This room won’t just look good and sound good; it’ll be the place where you can improve your music skills. Take a seat at the new keyboard, grab your violin or pick up the new guitar to start your life as a musician. Surround yourself with sheet music, a guitar case, and your record collection to get inspired.

Sims 4 Refined Living Room Kit Review

Our Review of The Sims 4 Music Den Kit

The title of the latest Kit, The Sims 4 Music Den, perfectly encapsulates what you can build with the twenty‑seven new items on offer. The warm plastic tones and dark woods create the kind of cosy atmosphere you’d expect from something called a “Music Den”. Alongside a handful of the usual decorative pieces are five new instruments. They aren’t brand new concepts for the game, but the styles they come in are, and they make a welcome addition to the catalogue.

The strongest part of the Music Den Kit is how cohesive it all feels. Every object, right down to the smallest pieces of clutter, follows the same colour scheme as the larger pieces such as the sofa, which isn’t always the case with Kits.

The clutter is also more useful than expected, giving us things we’ve been without in The Sims 4 until now. The music stand and metronome are items anyone who has ever studied anything music‑related will recognise, and they’ve been noticeably absent from the game. When placed alongside existing items and styles, even if you’re only using the Base Game, the overall look blends in well. That’s not always easy with the more niche Kits *cough* SpongeBob *cough*, but this one manages it without feeling out of place.

The main drawback of this Kit is that it serves as a stark reminder of the absence of a music‑focused Expansion Pack for The Sims 4, something fans have been asking for over the years. The furniture, while stylish, doesn’t introduce anything you haven’t already seen in terms of function. It’s seating, tables, and shelving with a different coat of paint. That isn’t a deal‑breaker, but it does mean the Kit leans heavily on its visual identity to justify itself. Builders will get more out of it than players who focus on careers or storytelling.

The clutter is strong, but the overall object count still feels tight once you start dressing a full room. You can build a convincing studio, yet you may find yourself reaching for items from other packs to round it out.

The Music Den Kit succeeds because it commits to a look and follows through. It isn’t trying to reinvent anything, and it doesn’t pretend to offer new gameplay. Instead, it delivers a focused set of objects that make it easy to build a warm, character‑driven music space. The instruments look good, the clutter is practical, and the swatches give you room to experiment. If you’re an avid builder of retro homes, this Kit will be right up your alley. If you’re after new features or deeper musical gameplay, it won’t change how you play. It’s a stylish addition that knows its lane and stays in it.
