A new musical project under the name YAO has formed. Its lineup brings together artists ONE OK ROCK, Paledusk, rapper and singer Awich, and rapper CHICO CARLITO.
This meeting of musical minds has given birth to the hard-hitting, pop-punk party anthem titled 777, released, unironically, on July 7. The song’s release also triggered the upload of its respective music video, placing the project’s performance in and around derelict buildings.
It brings together a mass of people wearing Japanese school uniforms and helmets, brandishing baseball bats. Think juvenile delinquents from Japanese media, but instead of fighting each other, they come together to simultaneously bob their heads to the jumpy rhythm.
Channeling that rebellious energy, everyone in the video rushes out of derelict buildings, knocking down doors and jumping out windows. They gather in front of a platform of piled-up furniture, where YAO performs. Red flags, torches, and the project members together on a tank complete the vision.

Each artist here is given their opportunity to shine with their individual sound and style. For example, ONE OK ROCK performs in a dimly lit room, as CHICO CARLITO stands atop of a canopy surrounded by bobbing heads. We find Awich on top of a wrecked car with a gun in her hand, as fireworks go off behind her. Last but not least, we find Paledusk in a corridor as people run past them from room to room.

By repeating the word “nana”, meaning the number seven in Japanese throughout the track, the song achieves a larger-than-life sound.
This is not the first time most of these members have released a song together. For ONE OK ROCK’s 2025 album, DETOX, the band collaborated with Paledusk and CHICO CARLITO on the tenth song, C.U.R.I.O.S.I.T.Y..
