Baywatch is on a slow-motion run back to our TV screens in a new Fox reboot, with Erika Eleniak (Shauni McClain), Michael Bergin (J.D. Darius), Kelly Packard (April Giminski), and David Chokachi (Cody Madison) set to reprise their roles from the syndicated original. Might Pamela Anderson join them and play lifeguard C.J. Parker once more?
Don’t get your hopes up. Anderson told Deadline she hasn’t been approached to appear in the update, and she has other priorities anyway.
“No one’s reached out to me,” the actor said. “I don’t know much about it. I know that they were talking to my sons at some point about producing, but I don’t think they had a meeting of the minds. I’m not sure what happened there, but I wish them well. It was a great job, and I loved going to work every day on the beach. I would have been there anyway. At the time, it taught me a lot, and it gave me worldwide exposure. Everything I’ve done has led me to here, which is a blessing. But I have no plans of going back to Baywatch.”
She added: “If my kids were involved, I probably would have listened to them. I think I’ve just got to keep on seeing what else is out there. I get that there’s a lot of really great TV out there right now, but I’ve already done that. Now is my time to really play with different characters. I don’t want to just fill my time until the end of the year. I have options, and some things I’m thinking about, including some theater again. I want to make really bold choices. I want to surprise people. I want to surprise myself. And so I’m trying to do things I haven’t done in the past.”
Anderson, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in 2024’s The Last Showgirl, can now be seen in the dark comedy film Rosebush Pruning, which hit select U.S. theaters on Friday. And she has already filmed roles for the upcoming films Place to Be, Love Is Not the Answer, Somedays, Alma, and Queen of the Falls, Deadline reports.

The new Baywatch, meanwhile, stars Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, and Brooks Nadler, and is set to premiere in January 2027 on Fox.
