Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky-Manno and her husband, Kevin Manno, shared heartbreaking news with fans this week.
On Sunday, the Bachelor Nation star revealed on Instagram that Kevin has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer after doctors discovered two malignant spots on his right side.
“We always try to be open and honest. We’re open books with our lives. I know I have thyroid cancer, but I’m not stressing about it,” they captioned their joint post.
Kevin’s surgery is set for February 10, when doctors will decide whether to remove half or all of his thyroid.
“The prognosis is very good,” he assured followers. “It’s something I can go in, knock out, and have behind us.”
Fans of the ABC show showed support in the comments, with one follower commenting: “Kevin will get through this. I had the same surgery and managed without narcotics, you’ve got this!”
Another advised: “Go for full removal. I needed two surgeries because I opted for partial the first time.”
Ali, who recently competed on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test before a hand injury forced her to withdraw, thanked the show’s fans for their kindness. “Thank you all for the love and support you’ve always shown us. We are grateful.”
