Billy Ray Cyrus has taken to the limelight amid his family’s public concern for his welfare, choosing to shift perspectives during a contentious family split.

Miley Cyrus‘ dad posted a heartfelt video performing his track Somebody Said a Prayer on social media, accompanied by a moving caption: “Praying for my family. For my children … sons and daughters…and their mother. Let this moment be the start of healing for us all.”

His familial woes stretch back years, with estrangement from several children including pop sensation Miley, and divorce proceedings with Tish Cyrus.

The strife hit a public crescendo following Billy Ray’s participation in a Donald Trump victory celebration when his son, Trace, voiced deep worry on Instagram.

Trace candidly expressed his long-standing admiration and longing to emulate his father: “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever.

Following these heartfelt words, it was alleged that Billy Ray responded by threatening legal action against Trace.

In response, Trace posted again, expressing his disappointment: “Dad my message was beyond loving. I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that. But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace.”

Trace’s siblings seem to share his sentiments regarding their father’s current situation.

A source disclosed to Page Six that Miley has “no interest” in mending their strained relationship, pointing out that they have been distant “for a long time.”

However, Billy Ray’s son Braison is taking a different path, collaborating with his father on a new music project.

Braison expressed on Instagram: “I’ve spent this past year getting to know my dad better than I ever have. It’s a rare opportunity to make something this special and tell my dad’s story through music. Can’t wait to finally share it.”

He also recently addressed rumors of a family “feud” in an interview with People magazine, where he clarified: “I don’t have any bad feelings toward anyone in my family.”
