Music marketing agency Blackstar has launched a new service called Blackstar Creator Vault. It’s for artists and labels who want to work with independent creators for tasks including short-video, stills and tour coverage.
Blackstar is handling insurance coverage, contracts and billing, which it says are among the “many areas that could be improved for both the creative talent and the client”. The new service includes a code of conduct to ensure both sides are treated fairly.
The Creator Vault is launching initially in London, but Blackstar plans to expand it to include creators in New York and Los Angeles in the second quarter of this year.
“If we want to keep the playing field level, we need to facilitate a space for safety, professionalism and good conduct. It simply has to be a priority for creators and acts alike in 2025,” said Blackstar founder Olivia Hobbs.
