Country singer Carrie Underwood allegedly looked “nervous” in her first sighting since performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In the days since her controversial performance, which was marred by technical issues, Underwood has been dubbed a “diva” for allegedly coming in with a list of demands, including a custome couture dress, which she was denied, and “an army of security.”
After allegedly being paid nothing for her troubles, the American Idol judge is back to her day-job.
A source told The U.S. Sun that Underwood looked uneasy as she filmed American Idol in Los Aneles with her fellow judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
The trio were filming the Hollywood round on January 27 ahead of American Idol’s Season 23 premiere on March 9th on ABC.
The three music icons met up at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown LA for Idol’s Showstoppers round, the first time the judges, along with the Season 23 contestants, were filmed in front of a live audience.
According to an insider, the Before He Cheats singer was energetically introduced by an announcer as she walked on stage.
She wore a sequin pink blazer dress with matching shoes as Richie opened up his arms to welcome her to the judging panel.
As she walked out, she was met with a roar of applause and cheers from the studio audience who began chanting her name.
Despite the welcome, a source claimed to The U.S. Sun that Underwood seemed “tense” and “serious” throughout the duration of the filming.
They claimed: “She barely acknowledged the audience who kept chanting her name. The fans kept yelling ‘we love Carrie’ but she wouldn’t even turn around and wave most of the time – though she did a few times.
“Also, Carrie rarely danced during the contestant’s performances besides nodding along and shuffling to some rock songs.

“She did loosen up a bit by the end so she could’ve been nervous, especially since it was her first time judging in front of a live audience. But Lionel and Luke both had a lot more energy than Carrie did.”
Last week, The U.S. Sun revealed that Underwood is choosing to “stay quiet” on her inauguration performance after the political attention its received has been “worst case scenario” for the Idol team.
Another source claimed: “The show just wants to stay away from anything political so this turning into such a big, worldwide topic of conversation is not what [the producers] wanted heading into the start of the season.
“The situation has become too big and out of anyone’s control now which is a stressful position to be in while trying to promote a family-friendly, politically neutral show.
“While I know people wish the show wasn’t involved, they are proud of how Carrie handled herself in what I’m sure was a stressful moment but this is basically worst-case scenario.
“In terms of the amount of attention it’s gotten and Idol being brought into the political conversation.”
Underwood didn’t get the sound she wanted for her performance on top of allegedly being denied the custom dress she demanded.
Instead, the country singer reportedly picked up a $300 dress off the rack for her inauguration performance.
An insider told The U.S. Sun: “Most of the changes from the day had to do with the event being moved indoors which decreased the guest list and how many people she could bring with her – something she was not happy about.
“But it even went down to things like the wardrobe. She was expecting to be dressed in something custom and at the very least something couture and that the administration or the designer would foot the bill for it.
“That also did not happen. Carrie ended up wearing a $300 dress off the rack and discounted shoes.”
