“Who’s Making You Feel It” – Cian Ducrot
Cian Ducrot’s rise to fame is nothing short of meteoric.
From his chart-topping debut LP Victory to his GRAMMY-nominated collaboration with SZA, the Cork-born singer/songwriter has consistently proven himself to be a master of emotional storytelling and heartfelt songcraft.
Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Cian Ducrot emerged as one of 2023’s biggest breakouts thanks to his acclaimed debut LP, Victory, which went straight to No. 1 in the UK and Ireland. Featuring the UK Platinum-certified viral sensation “All For You” and the Gold-certified “I’ll Be Waiting” (both Top 20 hits), Victory also included deeply personal standouts like “Heaven,” winner of the RTÉ Choice Music Prize for Irish Song of the Year.
Ducrot can’t help but bring his whole self: Big feelings, raw honesty, irrepressible heart. It’s no wonder, then, that he’s got over 1.3 billion global streams to his name, 4.5M followers on TikTok alone, tours notched with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Calum Scott, and even a GRAMMY nomination for co-writing SZA smash “Saturn” (Best R&B Song), as well as his tremendous social engagement and recent releases like the breakup ballad “Can’t Even Hate You” and the stirring folk-pop gem “something I can’t afford.”
Tell me, baby, when you fall asleep
When you’re dreaming, tell me,
does he set your soul alive?
Oh, baby, tell me, ’cause the heavens weep
A silver waterfall for you and I
Did he promise you a UFO?
‘Cause I know that you’ve been
asking for a bit of space
Tell me, baby, ’cause I need to know
Will all my wishing go to waste?
Returning with his latest hit “Who’s Making You Feel It,” which he debuted during his New Year’s Eve performance at Dublin Castle — broadcast live across Ireland mere moments before the midnight countdown — Ducrot delivered an unforgettable launch for this effervescent anthem. Despite its subject matter — a candid confrontation with an ex who has moved on — the song carries a buoyant energy that feels equal parts cathartic and celebratory.
Thought we were
riding on the rings of Saturn
Baby, now I’m watching you go
And you can say
if it’s no longer my business
But I need to know
Tell me, baby
Who’s making you feel it?
Who’s making it real?
Do you miss me when you’re
living your life up thеre?
I saw you drinking every drop
from thе Moon, I swear
Who’s making you feel it?
With this track, he unveils a sound that is as grand as it is emotionally incisive, as well as marking a bold new direction for Ducrot. Written and produced alongside GRAMMY winner Lostboy (Calvin Harris, Kylie Minogue), with additional writing from Theo Hutchcraft (Louis Tomlinson). The uplifting charm of the song is complemented by a similar aesthetic in what is Ducrot’s most ambitious visual to date. Filmed in Hungary and directed by Jasmine De Silva, the video sees Ducrot embracing choreography and movement in a way that brings a touch of classic Hollywood glamour into his world.
From the first piano chord to the soaring chorus, “Who’s Making You Feel It” radiates playful charm. Lines like “Did he promise you a UFO? ‘Cause I know that you’ve been asking for a bit of space” strike the perfect balance between wit and raw emotion, encapsulating the universal sting of jealousy and curiosity post-breakup.
“Who’s Making You Feel It” feels like an invigorating evolution in Ducrot’s style from his debut album. The bright, spacious piano melody that opens the song brings to mind the timelessness of early Elton John, but with a contemporary, radio-friendly twist when the flighty, punchy chorus soars to the stratosphere. Fans have come to love Ducrot for his emotionally charged lyricism, but there’s a subtle evolution on that front too: where he would previously strike directly at the heart of the sentiment, now there’s a playfulness to his words which brings a fresh sense of character to his songwriting.
Tell me, baby, where you gonna go?
Does he stick around
and catch you when the engine fails?
And does he build a technicolour boat
That can take on every storm you sail?
You know I love the way you dream sometimes
And I know that you can’t have it all
So tell me, baby, when you sleep at night
Tell me ’cause I need to know
Who’s making you feel it?
Who’s making it real?
So tell me, baby
Do you miss me
when you’re living your life up there?
I saw you drinking
every drop from the Moon, I swear
Who’s making you feel it?
The accompanying music video, directed by Jasmine De Silva and filmed in Hungary, brings a touch of classic Hollywood glamour to Ducrot’s world, showcasing the singer-songwriter’s most ambitious visual project to date.
“Who’s Making You Feel It” feels like an invigorating evolution in Ducrot’s style, a declaration of creative freedom and a willingness to push boundaries. The 27-year-old Cork native is eager to express and discover new aspects of himself, and it’s an exciting prospect for fans and newcomers alike.
With its infectious melody and universal appeal, “Who’s Making You Feel It” is destined to become another standout in Ducrot’s already stellar catalogue. The single is an experience; a reminder that even in heartbreak, there’s room for joy, humour, and growth.
Thought we were riding on the rings of Saturn
Baby, now I’m watching you go
And you can say if it’s no longer my business
But I need to know, yeah
We’re riding on the rings of Saturn
Baby, now I’m watching you go, yeah
And you can say if it’s no longer my business
But I need to know
On the single, Ducrot shares, “The song is basically one big, ‘Tell me, is this new guy better than me?‘ It’s about how we all find ourselves stalking our exes even if we say we don’t. And when you inevitably notice them moving on, that feeling of jealousy and curiosity pops up and you just need to know, ‘Who is it? Who’s making you feel better than I did?’ Or, ‘I notice it looks like your life is amazing and you’re really making the most of it all, but also DO YOU MISS MEEEE?!’”
“Who’s Making You Feel It” is truly an experience and a reminder that even in heartbreak, there’s room for joy, humour, and, above all, growth.
With its infectious melody and universal appeal, it’s destined to become another standout in Ducrot’s already stellar catalogue and has firmly established himself as a force to be reckoned with.
Cian Ducrot has also proven himself live, bringing his heart-on-sleeve lyrics and a voice that contains multitudes of emotions to every performance, whether sparking choir-backed flash mobs in malls and trains, supporting Ed Sheeran or Jess Glynne on tour, appearing at festivals like Wales’ In It Together, or playing to 36,000 fans across a pair of headlining shows in Dublin and Cork last year. In February, Ducrot will support Teddy Swims across his European/UK tour.
Who’s making you feel it?
Who’s making it real?
So tell me, baby
Do you miss me while you’re living it up so high?
I saw your silhouette crossing the Moon last night
Who’s making you feel it?
So tell me, baby, if we meet tonight
Do you still want me to catch your eye?
