ADRIAN — After several months of planning, including input received from a number of local groups/organizations, a four-day schedule of events for Adrian’s bicentennial celebration has been announced.

Adrian’s bicentennial website is interactive in that it allows users to click on each event date for more information, how they can learn about sponsorships, maps of locations where bicentennial events will be held, information about historic tours, and how to be part of a bicentennial community scrapbook project being led by the Adrian District Library.
Planning for Adrian’s bicentennial weekend began sometime in May/June 2024 and will culminate in a community celebration of Adrian’s history and its future, Adrian City Commissioner Mary Roberts said.
Work is still going on to fine-tune all bicentennial plans, and sponsorships/donations are being sought. There are many ways for volunteers to assist, too. The next meeting of Adrian’s bicentennial planning committee is 6 p.m. Feb. 10 in the basement of the Adrian District Library for anybody interested in learning more.
The bicentennial committee has worked with many groups over the past months including the River Raisin Ragtime Revue, Adrian City Band, Lenawee Community Chorus, Civitan of Lenawee, the Lenawee Historical Society, Adrian College, Adrian First Fridays, Adrian Noon Rotary, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Adrian District Library, Downtown Adrian Main Street/DDA and many volunteers.
The logo for Adrian’s bicentennial has been created by Alayna Paeth with Adrian College’s Department of Art and Design.
