Hylands Estate in Chelmsford will be hosting a country music festival in Hylands Park this summer. Country Calling is the ultimate weekend celebrating all things country music and culture, set to take place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August 2025.
This is the second Country Calling festival, with the first one taking place in 2024 in Colchester. Organiser Carl Miller says 2025’s event at Hylands Estate is set to be even bigger than last year’s:
“
“Wild Promotions is proud to bring the country music scene to Essex with Country Calling, giving local fans of the genre the chance to immerse themselves in all things country music and Americana across a whole weekend of spectacular celebrations. Country music is one of the fastest growing music genres in the UK at the moment and we are excited to
bring some of the best international and homegrown talent to the heart of Essex.“Following the success of last year’s festival in Colchester, we’re excited to be expanding this year’s event, bringing even more talented and well-known artists, and thrilling activities. So, grab your boots and hat, gather your friends and get ready for Essex’s ultimate country music event!”

Top national and international acts set to perform
Country Calling already has 40 incredible country artists scheduled to perform across multiple stages, including international headliners Dillon Carmichael and Kaylee Bell.
Other international and homegrown talent confirmed for the weekend includes American artist Craig Campbell, Australian singer songwriter Fanny Lumsden and UK country-rock musician Luke Flear.
There’s also British Country Music Awards winner Kezia Gill, who was named Radio 2’s BBC Introducing artist in 2019, opened for Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park in 2023, and has been dubbed ‘one of Britain’s finest’ by Maverick Magazine.
Closer to home, the Essex-grown Liam Cromby & The Morning Star will also grace the stage.
Family-friendly festival will include fun activities
In addition to a fantastic lineup of country music performances, the family-friendly festival will feature country-themed extra-curricular activities to enjoy across the weekend. There’ll be a fun fair with rides for little ones (and young ones at heart!) and a line dancing saloon where you can perfect your dance moves!
There’ll also be bars and food stalls, as well as merchandise stores around the site where you can pick up fan t-shirts, cowboy hats and other country-themed products.
Lorraine Thorne, Hylands House Manager, says this brand-new event for Hylands brings an increasingly popular genre to the estate for the first time:
“
“Country Calling is a welcome addition to our annual programming at Hylands Estate. Over the years we’ve hosted festivals and music concerts celebrating many varied genres of music, including electronic dance, classical, pop and rock. But this is the first time we’ll be hosting a country music event. I think Country Calling will be a great fit for the stunning surroundings of Hylands Park and, judging by the lineup of artists and activities confirmed so far, it’ll be a must-visit event for any country music fan.”
