It was time for the second elimination on Sunday night’s Dancing With The Stars, however there was another notable absence from the moment the cameras started rolling.
The judging panel was one short this week, as ballroom legend Loraine Barry was forced to miss the live show due the sad passing of her mum a few days earlier.
But it was down to business as the celebrities vying for the Glitterball trophy this year donned their glad rags and dancing shoes and put in their best efforts to impress Brian Redmond, Karen Byrne and Arthur Gourounlian.

The famed Movie Week edition of the series featured the stars dancing along to songs from blockbuster movies including Shrek, Sister Act and Gladiator.
Weather forecaster Joanna Donnelly, who was in the press earlier in the week saying she should be given extra credit for dancing against Olympians and other younger stars, embraced her vintage as she sashayed across the floor with her partner Maciej Zieba to the suggestive lyrics of Mrs Robinson from The Graduate.

The progress made by the celebrities can’t be denied, they’ve all improved hugely since starting this campaign a few short weeks ago.
Opening the show, Arthur told Aishah Akerorede that she had set the standard for the night, while Brian told her she made his legs weak, but of course, judge Brian had some harsh words for those who aren’t picking it up as fast as the others.

However it was surprising that he told Olympic gymnast Jack Woolley his routine was ‘Not quite as good as I hoped it would be’, as he and partner Alex, who has been performing in Dancing With The Stars in Australia but has never performed on Movie Week, took on the Joker.
Celebrity chef Kevin Dundon, who’s dedication to the role of Shrek earned him a measly eight points in total from the judges, definitely raised a few eyebrows… But he admitted that he was hoping the popular vote would see him through to week three- and it seems to be working as he was the first celeb to be voted through.
After the performance, Arthur said ‘My face still hurts…Class of 2025 Dancing With The Stars…Kevin Dundon you made memories for life.’

The first tens of the series were awarded to Olympic gold medalist Rhys McClenaghan who blew everyone away as Spiderman alongside is pro-partner Laura Nolan. The couple definitely have their eyes on the prize waltzing away with 29 points.
TV star Elaine Crowley looked extremely nervous as she tread the boards to You Can’t Stop The Beat from Hairspray, possibly praying the beat would in fact finish ASAP! Still though, she looked the part in a super cute polka dot tea dress and ruby red lips.

In the end, with a combined votes from the public and the judges scores, Elaine was the second celebrity to be eliminated from this year’s Dancing With The Stars,
