Prince Harry once reportedly made a jibe at his buddy James Corden during a festive lads’ gathering—prompting David Beckham to intervene and smooth things over.
This gathering back in 2011 was at an elite private members club and boasted a “pre-Christmas boys’ p— up” with their close friends, as per reports.
James, known for the hit series Gavin and Stacey, arrived late due to his West End show ‘One Man, Two Guvnors,’ finding a jolly crowd.
Sources claim that Harry’s joking remark didn’t sit well with Corden, with one insider sharing to the Mail: “There was rapture when he arrived. He was a much-loved part of the group and there were hugs and giggles.”
However, the harmony was disrupted when Corden took offense to Harry’s comment—which remains undisclosed by the outlet—with the source saying: “The group was pretty large. There were some of Harry’s friends, some of James’ friends and some of David’s gang and they all intertwined.
“Then it all kicked off, James was furious. It quickly emerged that Harry had told a joke and James definitely did not find it funny.”
An insider reported that after a disagreement, soccer icon and father of four, David Beckham, stepped in to defuse the situation.
They said: “It fell to David to smooth things over. He is loved by everyone, I mean, who wouldn’t want to do as they were asked by a legend like him? He did a great job and managed to talk everyone around. Eventually, James calmed down and the night carried on.”
Prince Harry, now married to Meghan Markle with two children, Archie and Lilibet, moved to Los Angeles shortly after their wedding, giving up their Royal titles.
Recently spotted in California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen offering solace to those affected by the Los Angeles fires, embracing individuals who have lost their homes amid the ongoing destruction.
Residing in Montecito, only 60 miles from the Malibu flames, the couple faces threat themselves.
They released a statement saying: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued.
“If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas. They further urged: “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.”
However, the couple were slammed for using the opportunity as a “photo-op”.
