The Duchess of Edinburgh is said to have held her 60th birthday party at her and Prince Edward‘s home, Bagshot Park – with some of her royal relatives in attendance.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were reportedly among the guests, with all the family invited to the private supper and celebrations to mark Sophie’s special day.
Sophie, who officially joined the Royal Family in 1999, celebrated her 60th birthday on January 20.
Her 120-room mansion is said to have been filled with many people close to her – including some of her past colleagues at Capital Radio.
Joining a host of famous and royal guests, musical theatre composer Andrew Lloyd Webber – who is a long-term friend of the couple – is said to have been in attendance.
Sophie is also said to have been joined by her father, Christopher Rhys-Jones – who resides in Kent – and her brother, David.
As reported by HELLO!, Sophie is said to have started her birthday with pheasant shooting at her home near Windsor.
Having reportedly gained permission from King Charles earlier this week to partake in the highly-controversial hobby, pheasant shooting is typically a decades-old royal tradition that is usually reserved for Boxing Day at Sandringham.
To mark her special milestone, new pictures of Sophie were released ahead of her birthday – which were taken by photographer Christina Ebenezer at Bagshot Park.
The beautifully-shot pictures showed Sophie beaming in a number of beautiful outfits, including a black roll-neck and white pleated skirt ensemble.
As well as ones released by the Royal Family, Christina also released a never-before-seen one on her Instagram.
After seeing the new pictures, many fans couldn’t help but share how young the royal looks for her age. Taking to social media, one fan wrote: “Hard to believe that she is 60. She looks like 45.”
A second commented: “60? Wow Sophie you look amazing and so much younger!! Happy Birthday!!”
