KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Former Kansas City Royals utilityman Adam Frazier won’t return for a second season with the organization.
Frazier agreed to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to a report from Jon Heyman.
The 33-year-old who played predominantly at second base and in the outfield for Kansas City during the 2024 season signed a Major League contract with Pittsburgh. He returns to the Pirates after playing parts of six seasons with them from 2016 to 2021.
He was an All-Star in 2021 with Pittsburgh but struggled to match the same level of production in Kansas City, having a career-worst batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage for the Royals.
Frazier hit .202 in 262 at-bats, scoring 35 runs and driving in 22 RBI.
