Giovanna Fletcher, who turns 40 today, has opened up on her marriage struggles with husband Tom Fletcher.
Chatting to fellow podcaster Caroline Hirons on a recent episode of her Glad We Had This Chat podcast, the former I’m A Celeb winner gave a fresh insight into her relationship with her McFly singer husband
A listener had written-in admitting that her and her partner’s ‘demanding jobs’ were getting in the way of their relationship. In response, Giovanna shared her own experiences, saying: “That’s really hard isn’t it. I can relate, I feel with Tom if we can manage to watch something together and our feet touch, that’s a win.
She added: “I also think being aware that you’re so busy that you’re juggling, that you’re drifting is really really important, because then you can do something about it. I think not being aware of it is the difficult place to be.”
Giovanna also spoke passionately about the importance of not paying attention to other couple’s relationships. She explained: “I think it’s so easy to look at other couples out there, whether that’s your mates, or online and go ‘oh my gosh they’ve got it sorted’. It’s all b******s, total total rubbish.”
Giovanna and Tom first met as children at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, when she was just 13 years old. They tied the knot in 2012 and have since gone on to have three children together; Buzz, Buddy and Max.
In recent years Giovanna has become a well established name in the world of podcasting, with the broadcaster chatting to guests about their experiences of motherhood on her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast.
Boasting a star-studded line up of guests in recent years, possibly the biggest name to grace her podcast was the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, when the royal sat down to chat five years ago.
However, prior to starting her own podcast, Giovanna had also made several appearances on-screen, most notably when she picked up top spot in ITV’s I’m A Celeb, after she beat radio presenter Jordan North to be crowned Queen of the Jungle. Meanwhile, she has also appeared on the likes of Loose Women and Lorraine.
