LA-based distributor GRB Media Ranch has picked up the international rights to True Dating Stories, a comedic dating-themed docuseries from Canadian production company LaRue Entertainment.
GRB Media Ranch, which was formed 18 months ago when GRB Studios and Media Ranch combined their distribution arms, is handling distribution of both the finished tape and the format.
The shortform series, with episodes ranging from 10 to 15 minutes long, depicts dating stories through re-enactments. It ran for three seasons on CBC’s digital platforms and was also adapted into a podcast by CBC’s audio division.
True Dating Stories was acquired by GRB Media Ranch’s distribution and acquisition executive Liz Levenson.
Led by co-presidents Andrew Ferguson and Matt King, LaRue Entertainment is also behind original sketch comedy series The Dessert for Canadian streamer Crave, as well as documentary Someone Lives Here and shortform series The Amazing Gayl Pile, My Dead Dad’s Porno Tapes and Bit Playas.
GRB Media Ranch, which is headed by Gary R Benz and Sophie Ferron, distributes a catalogue of more than 5,000 hours of content spanning scripted and unscripted.
