Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may wish to return to the UK to meet the new addition to the Royal Family, it has been revealed.
Princess Beatrice welcomed her second child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on January 22, a little girl they have named Athena.
The adorable newborn joined the couple’s three-year-old daughter Sienna and Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship, eight-year-old Wolfie.
Harry and Meghan, who are parents to five-year-old Archie and three-year-old Lilibet, would undoubtedly be overjoyed for Beatrice’s young family.
Speaking to the Mirror, royal expert Jennie Bond said: “I imagine that Beatrice has already pinged a picture or two [or Athena] to Harry and Meghan.
“I don’t think it will hasten a visit by them to the UK, but perhaps if charity work or business brings Harry this way he’ll be keen to meet his new cousin.”
Beatrice’s newborn daughter also seemingly already holds a sweet connection to Harry and Meghan’s daughter.
Lilibet received her name as a tribute to her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Lilibet is known to be a nickname used by the late monarch as she couldn’t pronounce her name properly as a child. The late Prince Philip also continued using Lilibet as a nickname for his beloved wife.
Beatrice decided to use the middle name of Elizabeth for both Athena and her eldest daughter, Sienna – who was born in 2021. Unlike her sister, Athena also has a a second middle name – Rose.
Speaking further about Athena’s birth, Ms Bond told the publication: “This was lovely news. After the brutality of last year for so many of the royal family, 2025 is looking altogether brighter.
“It must have been rather alarming to have such a premature and tiny baby.
“I think the hospital has to be commended for keeping the birth completely confidential for a week. But all, it seems, is well and the family are obviously delighted.”
