Hoover City Council set to vote on new entertainment center at the Village on Lorna

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – You could see some changes coming to a shopping center on Lorna Road in Hoover.

The city council is set to vote on a proposal for a new entertainment center.

The new facility would replace the Bargain Hunt at the Village on Lorna.

Hoover mayor Frank Brocato said he’s excited to see a new business to revitalize the older shopping center.

The proposal, approved by the planning and zoning commission last week, features a bowling alley, a trampoline and arcade area, and party rooms.

The developer, Stars Entertainment, also has plans to refresh the parking lot and landscaping.

Mayor Brocato says this is now the second shopping center in Hoover on Lorna that will see new business growth in the last six months.

Trader Joe’s will be moving into the former Bed, Bath and Beyond on Lorna.

“I think it says a lot about our city, there is great opportunity here. We have so many folks opening new businesses here coming into some of these old shopping centers and reinvesting. That’s a great thing for the city of Hoover,” said Brocato.

This proposal is now headed to the council for a vote next month.
