Selena Gomez has been prioritizing acting over music in her career as of late, but the singer and her producer fiancé, Benny Blanco, hinted that new songs are coming yesterday. Both Gomez and Blanco posted an Instagram Story of Gomez with earphones on, listening to a secret project. Blanco posted the clip on his TikTok as well.
A fan commented there, “When ur producer is also ur husband 😍” Blanco replied, “when ur wife is also selena gomez.”

Five days ago, Blanco first fueled rumors that he and Gomez were working on new music together. In response to a fan who wrote, “Blanco please make some new songs for our queen,” he posted a clip of himself and Gomez recording.

Gomez hasn’t spoken as much about her music career recently. In October, she admitted that she has no date in mind for her next album’s release. “I currently don’t have anything, but I will say music is going to always be a part of me,” she told Variety. “So I don’t think any movements are happening right now, but it will always be in my life.”
In December, she admitted that she thinks her days as a musician are numbered. While talking with Saoirse Ronan for Variety’s Actors on Actors discussion, Gomez said, “I don’t see that [doing music] being a forever thing. I’ll always have music in my life because my partner’s a musician, and I love having moments to do it for fun. It can be a little vulnerable when you’re putting yourself out there versus escaping into a character.”
She compared her talent for acting versus making music later, telling Ronan, “I definitely think my strong suit is probably acting. But one thing I’m proud of in music is being able to tell a story—my favorite songs are mostly ballads, and they’re very transparent and honest. But I think I might be a little too old for the pop-star life. I’m genuinely so happy to just be in this new era of my life, because in a lot of ways, it’s just the beginning.”
