Imago are heading into an exciting new chapter of their career.
On January 30, 2025 (Thursday), the veteran pop rock band announced that they are set to release a new single, entitled “Gulong-Gulo.” It notably serves as their first single in over a year since the release of “Magbabalik” with Ebe Dancel back in November 2023.
In addition to this, the release of “Gulong-Gulo” also marks a significant milestone in the journey of the band — now composed of vocalist Kurei Granada, bassist Myrene Academia, guitarist Tim Cacho, and drummer Mervin Panganiban — as it coincides with their signing to Sony Music Entertainment. The quartet is also currently working on a brand-new EP which is set to come out soon.
According to a press statement, “Gulong-Gulo” is described as a “dreamy track” that is “a sonic exploration of love’s complexities, blending lush textures with crystalline guitar tones and subtle drumming.” The song dives into the theme of an “emotional tug-of-war in choosing to fight for a relationship rather than letting it fade instantly.” “It’s more of a reflection of how a relationship can be,” the band reveals. “There will always be highs and lows, and it’s about knowing that your relationship is bigger than the occasional fights, so you fix it.”
The forthcoming single was produced by Raymund Marasigan and Buddy Zabala, with an arrangement by Zabala, as well as drumming contributions from Badjao de Castro of IV of Spades and Party Pace.
“Gulong-Gulo” is set to come out this January 31, 2025 (Friday) at 12:00 AM (PHT). Pre-save it here.
