In May of last year, I had the pleasure of interviewing Itz waidi about his album and I’m here to tell you about his latest single and upcoming projects in a Rapzilla exclusive.
“Meteoro” (Meteor) is a song about anxiety and fighting against it through prayer and reaching out to God in the midst of it. The song is in Spanish and English, and he adds more English since his fanbase consists of English speakers.
His goal in his music and ministry is to remind people to take refuge in God even when life and mental illness hit hard, we must cling to the Rock in the storms. Even when people think God can’t use you, He can and will use us to glorify Him and reach the lost because you’ve been through it.
“Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.” (1 Corinthians 1:27)
This year, Itz waidi will shift his music to more upbeat/happy sounds and other genres while keeping the same focus on praising God.
This new season of music is titled ‘Project Nova’ and will consist of a year of singles, releasing a single a month. Each single will have promo images and backstories leading up to the next album, titled Astro which is expected to be full of metaphors and a soundscape related to space.
The next single is expected to be released around the end of February so until then check out ‘Meteoro’ and his album 110 on Spotify.
