John Cena’s Latest Project Takes You Behind the Wheel of Celebrities’ Cars
By Movieguide® Contributor
WWE star John Cena takes to the road for his latest project, a talk show called WHAT DRIVES YOU.
“I’m John Cena. Join me as I spend time with the most successful celebrities on the planet and talk about what drives them both on the road and in their heart,” Cena says in the trailer for the show.
The series is comprised of four episodes and will feature several guests like Logan Paul, Jelly Roll, Travis Barker and Cena’s WWE rival, the Miz. It launches on Jan. 21 on Roku.
WHAT DRIVES YOU will be a lot like Jerry Seinfeld’s series COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE.

But despite being a seasoned performer, Cena experienced some nerves going into the show.
“I think the nerves came from, I just wanted the people who volunteered to be on the show, I just wanted them to be comfortable the whole time,” Cena told Newsweek. “It’s a business where you gotta get out and make people aware of what you got coming up and I just wanted to create an environment where I thought it would be easy for people to talk about their journey and what’s coming up.
“I really wanted to be able to give the people who were on the show a chance to just talk about whatever they wanted,” he added, “and I guess part of creating a safe space is also establishing trust, and a lot of the ways you could do that is with vulnerability, so that’s what’s sharing. So you’ll certainly hear some stuff from me.”
In episode one, Cena will join Paul in his Ford Bronco, and the two will drive to Paul’s gym.
Episode two will feature country artist Jelly Roll and his RAM 1500 Laramie where his “wife customized every piece” on his truck.
In episode three, Cena and Blink 182’s drummer Travis Barker will take a ride in Barker’s 1987 Buick GNX and Mercedes Benz G-Wagon.
“This is like an assault vehicle style G-wagon,” Cena said of Barker’s car.
Lastly, in episode four, Cena and his former WWE rival, The Miz, will take a ride around Los Angeles in The Miz’s Tesla.
Per Variety, the series will be produced by ITV America Leftfield Pictures.
Executive producers include David George, Shawn Witt, Sean Moran, Jay Bienstock, Cena and Dan Baime.
