Welcome to your weekly update on local shows happening in Bloomington. There isn’t a whole lot going on this week, but there still is some good music to listen to. Here is what’s happening from Jan. 23-25 in the local music scene:
Kicking off Thursday at The Bluebird is the local R&B group Yours Truly. The band will be performing hits by artists like Beyonce and Adele. If you want to get your dance on, the music starts at 10 p.m. and tickets are $10.
Bloomington’s own country artist Hank Ruff will be playing at The Bluebird. Music starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $10.
The Orbit Room will be hosting local musicians Ben Cartha Fowler Project and Reggae Union. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and music begins at 7 p.m. There is an online presale for tickets starting at $10 with a $1 service fee. Day of show tickets will be $12 with a $1 service fee.
The Bluebird is hosting two tribute bands. A blast from the past with Back 2 Mac, a Fleetwood Mac tribute and DoorWay, a tribute to The Doors. The show begins at 9 p.m. and tickets are $15.
Over at The Orbit Room, it’s an indie psych rock triple header titled, “Sounds From the Black Hole.” It will feature Chicago based band Bronze, Pennsylvania’s art rock post punk band Giant Day and Indiana’s Chris Barth’s solo project Geodize. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the music starting at 7 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $12 with a $1 service fee and day of show tickets are $15.
