Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at the center of an unflattering Vanity Fair expose and one royal expert believes their PR team is getting the blame.
Kinsey Schofield talked about what to expect in the latest episode of Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, where she said there is a “countdown” to the premiere of Meghan’s cooking series and the Sussexes have a little over a month to turn things around.
Schofield believes there are crisis meetings happening right now with Harry and Meghan speaking to their PR team about how something like this could happen, referring to the scathing remarks in the Vanity Fair piece.
The article goes over a number of controversial topics, including Meghan supposedly shopping around a divorce book to publishers and her alleged mean girl attitude toward employees, but to Schofield, the worst part is that Harry and Meghan are presented as being unreliable.
The Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered host said: “The countdown is on, because they have a little over a month, barely over a month, to win over the world, because Meghan is desperate for her Netflix show to succeed.”
It’s not clear if the Duke and Duchess will be doing the talk show circuit, especially considering they are continuously accused of being overexposed, but it’s understandable where Schofield is going with this, suggesting how Harry and Meghan can try and counteract the accusations being made.
Schofield turned her attention to what was said, that she believes the divorce rumors to be “hurtful” and she can understand the “mean girl theme of Meghan being a bully probably gets under her skin,” but the hardest pill to swallow is that they are said to be “unimpressive.”
According to Schofield, the Sussexes have a lot of work ahead of them, to try and reverse the damage that has been done by the accusations made in the Vanity Fair article, if taken to heart.
She said: “The entire theme of this piece is that you can’t rely on these two and realize that other legitimate professionals are going to read this op-ed and they’re going to opt not to work with them going forward because Vanity Fair has not painted a good picture of them.”
